Imaginary Colour

Imaginary Colour. Silk-screened text on fluorescent rose Plexiglas, steel frame, 120 x 60 x 45 cm, 2024. On site at “On the Brink: Installation Art Festival.” RiverBrink Art Museum, Niagara on the Lake, ON, August 31 – September 1, 2024.

Imaginary Colour plays upon altering colour perception in the viewer, drawing upon the potency of invisibility and the ephemerality of perception. The temporary nature of the installation and its nearly psychedelic optical effects lends itself to reflection on the fleeting nature of experience. Much of my recent work explores site-specific art in public venues. Public art and temporary interventions allow artists and audiences to connect in non-institutional spaces. This allows me to connect an art experience to our very localized, specific, sensory, and unique ways of being.
